This year the course addresses four different topics, all related to Internet research. Information about these topics is provided in class. Each topic will roughly cover 4 to 7 research/tutorial papers/standards. Each reading will fall into one of three different categories: classic papers, tutorial papers, and recent results. There may be some supplemental readings.
Students are required to write summaries and participate in a class discussion. A term project is required. Students are also required to meet for research and brainstorming meetings on some weekends and make presentations on assigned papers. Please make sure that your schedule this quarter allows this.
Students are expected to attend all the lectures. At most one lecture can be missed for valid reasons.
